Abstract
Thisthesisaddressesthetheory,numericalcomputingandtechnologyofdynamicalholographydisplaybasedonholovideo(real—timedisplay).Itisimpossibletorealizedynamicandreal—timedisplayfortypicalopticalholographywheretherearetwoindependencecoursesofopticalholographicrecordingandopticalholographicdisplay.However,dynamicalholographicdisplayisinteractive3-Ddisplay.Ithasmanyapplications.TypicalComputerGeneratedHolography(CGH)andhologramsynthesisthatsimulatetypicallyopticalholographyneedtocomputeahuge2-Dholographicfringe,ortolosesome3-Djnformationandresolutiontoreducedata.Thefirstreal—timedisplayofholographicimageswasreportedin1990bytheMITSpatialImagingGroupButthisisstillaflopenproblembecauseviewangleofholographicimages,volumeandspeedoftransmitarelimited.
Thisthesiscoversthemethodsofcomputingholographyaswellastheprincipleofthe3-Dimagingbasedonthediffraction-specificapproach,thekeytopicsareencodinganddecodingoffringebasedoncomputer-generatedholography(CGH).Anewmethodofencodinganddecodingoffringeareproposedusingwavelettransformtoestablishanewtransformmodel.Itisfastandsimpletocomputebasisfringebyusingthewaveletpackage.Experimentalresultsshowtheobviousadvantageandrobustnessofourmethods.Inthisthesis,westudythealgorithmofholographicstereogramdisplaythatCanbeimplementedusingCGH.Wediscusstheimagingprocessthroughcapturingsequenceparallaximages,illuminatinghologrambyaplanewavecreatesthevolumeeffectintheobserver’Seyes.ThemethodofcompressingbandwidthoffringefunctionisproposedthatbasisfringecontainsdiscretespectrumwhichisbasedonHumanvisionforreal—timedisplay.wealsointroducediscussesthespatiallightmodulators(SLMs)basedOndisplaysystemofdigitalholographyandtheoryofnumericalreconstructionofdigitalholography.Asaexample,wereconstructphaseoflightwavefronttoperfectbeamreflectedbyanimperfectmirror.
