ABSTRACTS

Historicalmaterialismprovidesthestance,viewpointandmethodologyforourinvestigationofcontemporaryissues,aswellasthefundamentaltheoryandmethodologyforourresearchintohistory.Itinvolvesknowledgeoftheessenceofthehistoricalprocess,or,asitisusuallyreferredto,theontologyofhistory.Italsoinvolvesawayofunderstandinghistory,i.e.anepistemology,methodologyandvaluesforthestudyofhistory.Thetwoareunitedinhistoricalmaterialismandthereisnoquestionoftheirbeinginopposition.Inaccordancewithhistoricalmaterialism,onemaysumupbysayingthathistoricalfactsarenon recurring,historicalphenomenapossesssimilaritiesandhistoricallawsrepeatthemselves.Withoutaproperunderstandingoftherespectivefeaturesofhistoricalfacts,phenomenaandlawsandtheirinnerconnections,itisimpossibletoestablishasoundtheoryofhistory.
