Abstract:Workingmemory,whichplaysaveryimportantroleintheprocessofsyntacticambiguityresolution,isthemajorargumentofthesyntacticambiguityresolutiontheory.Therearetwomajormethodsformeasuringtheworkingmemorysystem:readingspantestand fanprocedure .Correspondingbrainfunctionstudieshavefoundthatmostoftheexperimentscarriedouthaverevealedarelationshipbetweenthecapacityofanindividual sworkingmemoryandhissentenceprocessing.Concretelyspeaking,

individualswithafastreadingspanadopttheserialprocessingstrategy,whilethosewithaslowreadingspanemploy

theparallelprocessingstrategy.Manyfactors,sofar,havebeenidentifiedtobeassociatedwiththeworkingmemorymechanismintheprocessofsyntacticambiguityresolution.Amongthemareambiguitydistance,processingstrategies,andagefactor.Thebraincortexofworkingmemorymainlyinvolvesleftposterlateraltempora,lventralportionsofleftinferiorfrontalcortexandbilat eraloccipitalcortex.Thefirstmajorconcerninthefutureresearchistoidentifythedifferencesandproblemsbroughtaboutbythetwo on-line and off-line experimentparadigms.Meanwhile,moreattentionshouldbepaidtothecross-linguisticstudiesofthisarea,especiallytothemechanismofChinesereadersprocessingsyntacticcallyambiguousEnglishsentences,aswellastotherelationshipbetweenChinesesyntacticrepresentationandEnglishsyntacticrepresentation.

Abstract:Whatistheobjectofpsychologystudy?Thisquestionhasbeensolved.Andwhataboutthenatureofitsobject?Thereisstillnoconsensusyet.Thesetwoquestions,whicharedifferentfromeachother,mustnotbeconfused.Proceedingfromthisviewpoint,thispaperdiscussesmainlyfivequestions.First,hastheissueoftheobjectofpsychologystudybeensolved?Thesecondissueisconcernedwiththedevelopmentofitsobject.ThethirddealswiththeviewpointsofChinesepsychologistsontheobject.Theforthquestionprobesintotheconsensusabouttheobjectofpsychologystudy.Andthefifthissueisaboutthenatureofpsychology.
