Abstract1,3,5-Tri(3-allyl-3,4-dihydro-2H-1,3-benzoxa-zinyl)benzene(tp-ala)wassynthesizedusingallylamine,para-formaldehydeandnewsynthesized1,3,5-tri(p-hydroxyl-phenyl)benzene.Thechemicalstructureoftp-alawascharacterizedbynuclearmagneticresonancespectroscopy(1HNMR,13CNMR),Fouriertrans-forminfraredspectroscopy(FTIR)andultravioletandvisibleabsorptionspectroscopy(UV-Vis).Thecuringbehavioroftp-alawasstudiedbydifferentialscanningcalorimetry(DSC)analysis.Thethermalandopticaltp-ala)wereobserved.Theresultsshowedthatbyintroducingtheallyl-group,propertiesofcuredtp-ala(P-theTgofP-tp-alawas322℃.5%masslosstemperaturewasat356℃andthecharyieldat800℃was61.4%,whichwerehigherthanthoseofthereportedtrisphenol-basedpolybenzoxazines.P-tp-alaalsoshowedphotoluminescentproperty.ThefluorescenceemissionwavelengthofP-tp-alaunderanexcitationat233nmwasat350nm.Inaddition,duetothehigharomaticcontentofP-tp-ala,P-tp-alahadahighrefractiveindexof1.6325.Thehighrefractive-indexcharacteristicmakesP-tp-alathermosetapotentialcandidateinantire-flectivecoating.Keywords
