ChinaandASEANhavequadrupledtheirtradefromUS$105.9billionin2004toUS$443.6billionin2013.Andthetwo-wayaccumulativeinvestmenthastoppedUS$120billion.Ourcooperationhasalsoexpandedcomprehensively.Practicalcooperationhasbeencarriedoutinmanyfields,including11majorareas,rangingfromagriculturetoIT,humanresourcedevelopment,mutualinvestment,developmentoftheMekongriverbasin,transport,energy,culture,tourism,publichealthandenvironmentalprotection.Therearemorethan140pairsofsistercities/provinces.Everyweek,over1,000flightsaremadebetweenChinaandASEANcountries.Everyyear,morethan18millionpeopletravelbetweenthetwosides.Andthenumberofexchangestudentshasexceeded180,000.Onthefrontoffightingmajornaturaldisastersandcommunicablediseases,ChinaandASEANhavealsoworkedtogethersuccessfully.AftertherecentearthquakeinLudianofChina'sYunnanProvince,whichcausedahugelossoflifeandproperty,ASEANcountriesexpressedtheirsympathiestotheChinesegovernmentandpeopleandofferedtheirsupport.China-ASEANfriendshipandcooperationhasprovedtobenotonlybeneficialtothepeopleofbothsides,butalsoaboosttopeace,stabilityanddevelopmentoftheregion.

今年是中国和东盟战略伙伴关系第二个十年的开局之年，中国和东盟关系正站在新的历史起点上。中国政府将一如既往地高度重视发展同东盟的友好合作，坚持与邻为善、以邻为伴，突出“亲、诚、惠、容”的理念发展双方关系；坚持把东盟作为周边外交的优先方向，支持东盟发展壮大，支持东盟共同体建设，支持东盟在区域合作中的主导地位。我们愿与东盟携起手来，进一步打造健康、稳定、富有活力的中国－东盟关系。
