A good inter v iew answ er might go something like this:
"A ctually, I enjoy ev er y thing about w hat I do. I suppose if I had to giv e something up, it w ould be..."
The 'something' depends on y ou, but it's best to mention something incidental to y our job, like admin or paperw ork. So y ou might say:
"I'm not sure (pause). I suppose if I had to pick something to giv e up it w ould be paperw ork. I know it's important, and I do it w ell, but if someone else did if for me, that w ould be great!"
* Why do you want to leave your curr ent job/company?
If y ou're apply ing for a more senior job, y ou might answ er:
"I really enjoy w hat I do, but I'm ready for more responsibility and challenge w hich y our job offers. U nfortunately, my current
job/employ er can't giv e me this."
If this isn't the reason, use y ours instead, but alw ay s be positiv e in y our answ ers to tough interv iew question
* What do y ou think of y our current boss?
"My current boss is great. He sets the team challenging but realisti c targets and motiv ates us to achiev e them..."
"My current boss is v ery good. She deals w ith her team firmly but fairly and enjoy s our respect because of this..."
If y our current boss is not great, and y ou are prepared to answer more interv iew questions about this, say so, but do balance each criticism w ith a positiv e point. Remember the need to appear positiv e in y our answ ers to inter v iew questions. You might say:
"My current boss has strengths and w eaknesses. He is v er y good at listening to people but sometimes, in my v iew, doesn't deal w ith underperfo rmers firmly enough. This affects team morale sometimes..."
