一致的。Webb和Peart(2000)在研究印度尼西亚婆罗洲的热带雨林的树种在成树与幼树时期与生境的相关性时, 发现植物在这两个生长阶段与生境的相关性不同; 同样, Comita等人(2007)在分析BCI样地中物种在不同生长时期的生境相关性时得到同样的结果。在亚热带常绿阔叶林的研究中, Lai等人(2009)将古田山24 ha样地中的60个研究的物种分成3个不同的生长时期, 分析其与样地4类小生境的相关性, 结果发现大部分物种在成熟期与生境的相关性与幼树期和生长期不同。
本文对地形因素在亚热带常绿阔叶林植物物种多样性的维持机制进行研究, 虽然与生境显著相关的物种数不是很多, 但是从个体数来讲, 与生境相关的数目已经占有绝对优势。与生境相关性表现不明显的物种大多都是个体数很少的稀有种, 同时, 由于在分析中只考虑了地形因素对物种分布的影响, 如果考虑到别的因素, 例如土壤的酸碱性或肥沃程度等, 生态位理论可能能够解释更多的样地中的物种共存的机制。在研究物种与生境相关性在生长过程中的变化情况中, 我们可以看到随着植物的生长, 可能由于它对外界影响的承受能力, 对逆境的抗性能力得到增强, 所以并不是像人们常认为的那样幼苗期植物对生境的选择就决定了今后植物的命运。
