Abstract: The “Cultural turn”, put forward by the School of Translation Study, is regarded as the mainstream in translation study paradigm. The appearance of “cultural turn” liberates translation studies from the pure linguistic compass and places it in a broader socio-cultural realm, which expands the horizon and explores new fields for translation studies. Under the influence of “cultural turn”, the role of translator is given much more focus and attention, which implies that the translator could give his/her subjective initiatives into full play in the whole translation process. This essay illustrates the rewriting theory firstly and then simply discusses the influence of “cultural turn” on the translator’s subjectivity. Key Word: the Cultural turn; the Subjectivity of translator; the Rewriting theory
