Cultural Corner部分是一篇介绍“英国、美国的日报”的文章，通过阅读该文 章，可以增加学生对西方国家新闻业的了解，拓宽学生就报纸杂志这一话题的知 识面和相关词汇量，为后面的Task做好准备。

Teaching Goals:

1. To arouse Ss’ interest in learning about newspaper and magazines;

2. To get Ss to know something about daily newspaper in Britain and the United States; Teaching Procedures:

Step 1.Word Study

Ask Ss to match the words with their definitions.

(1) journalist a. someone who is very

is in charge of a part of a newspaper

(4) photographer d. the title of a newspaper article

Step 2. Pre- reading

Ask some questions to arouse Ss’ interest to know foreign newspaper.

Q1. How many foreign newspaper do you know? What are they?

Q2. Have you ever read them before? If so, how is your feeling about that?

Q3. Do you have some foreign newspaper of magazines?

Step 3.while- reading
