About the AuthorOscar Wilde was born in Dublin, Ireland on October 16, 1854. In 1874, Oscar crowned his successes at Trinity with two final achievements. He won the College's Berkeley Gold Medal for Greek and was awarded a scholarship to Magdalen College, Oxford. In May 1895, Wilde was prosecuted and imprisoned for homosexuality under the terms of the Criminal Law Amendment Act.
