I was born in the Rotunda Hospital, on June 5th,1932. Mine was a difficult birth, I am told. Both mother and son almost died. A whole army of relations queued up outside the hospital until the small hours of the morning ,waiting for news and praying anxiously that it would be good.

Back it would drop again 是倒装语序,正常语序为it would drop back again.将back 置与从句之首是为了强调,有了"立刻"之意。Would 表示这种情况经常发生。
