Theresultsoftheprevioussectioncannowbeusedtodesignastructurewithawell-de neddampingratio.OnemightnotwanttovaryalloftherelevantparametersAm,Afr,g,xfr,sincetheya ectotherquantitiesofthesystem.Inourcase,wetakeAmandAfras xedquantitiesastheyin uencethemassandthustheresonancefrequency.Thesizeofthegapgresultsfromthefabricationprocessandcanbeadjustedtoacertaindegree(fromafewtoafewtensofmicrons),herewehaveg=12.4μm.Thefrontgapxfrcanbechosenmorefreely.Itispossibletosetittoarangefromafewtoafewhundredsofmicrons.Sinceweexpectedlargede ectionsformeasurementsinvacuum,wetookxfr=40μmforoutteststructure.
