Abstract

The use of power energy has applies in every field of social、economics and life, and in the structure of power energy of our country, the capacity of power equipment count for 75% of the total installation capacity. This paper is the preliminary design of a middle thermal power plant, equipped with two turbo-generators of 600 MW. This paper carries on mainly the design of main electrical connection and generator – transformer protection. The design of main electrical connection includes the comparison and selection of electric main connection mode; the selection of main transformer、and startup/ standby transformers; the calculation of short circuit current and the selection and test of high voltage equipment. The part of generator – transformer protection design introduce configuration rules of generator-ransformer protection and several mainly protection such as generator-ransformer differential protection、generator differential protection、stator earthing protection. The last it simply design the planning of defending the thunder and ground protection.
