Kitty was not a top student at school. She didn’t do much schoolwork. In her final term, she started thinking what she could do. In fact, she found that there was not much to do. Then she found herself a job to look after two little girls in a family. It wasn’t too bad at first. Two months later, she found the boss didn’t give her any time off. She felt so tired because she had too many late nights and early mornings with the children.

One day she met her friend, Megan in the park. Megan used to go to school with

Now kitty really loves her job. She enjoys working with small children though sometimes she finds it's not that easy. She wants to tell those who are like her, even if you are not top of the class at school, you could have a dream in your heart.

Now many people think New York is a noisy city. Even when you get into a taxi, you hear the voice of a famous singer or a popular actress giving instructions. The voices of these people tell you what to do. One popular star gives this message, “Cats have nine lives, but you have only one, so fasten your seat belt.” Other voices say things such as“Don't forget to collect all your belongings." When people get off, they often leave things like bags, phones and umbrellas on taxis.

There is a good reason for the messages. There are more than 12, 000 taxis in New York, and every year taxis get into more accidents. In an accident, people may easily get hurt if they don't wear seat belts. Every year about 11,000 people are injured in this way.

Many people don't like these voices. A lot of passengers complain that they are too noisy. Some drivers say, "I play the messages for at least 20 times a day when I drive. I hear the same voic es all day. It makes me crazy.” Tom is a 45-year-old driver. He says “If I don't play the messages, I will get fined $100.”
