The first category involves acquiring good reservoir knowledge that will answer the fundamental questions about this ultra low-perm rock, and identify the risks and uncertainties in the producability of an individual reservoir. A holistic understanding of the reservoir is essential for sound development planning.

The second set of challenges mainly concerns efficient production and operations. They include achieving zonal isolation. Efficient completions. Using the right stimulation fluids. And minimizing the environmental impact of development.
