8 Coding System

This specification shall be referenced in otherdocuments, drawings, VTS, CTS, etc. as follows:GMW14651

Test pieces shall be exposed for (400 ± 2) h in ahumidity cabinet operating at (+80 ± 3) °C and(75 ± 5) % relative humidity.

Test pieces shall show no significant surfacechanges, particularly changes in color or gloss, orother changes detrimental to serviceability. Testpieces shall comply with the dimensions specifiedon the drawing after completion of the test.For the humidity ageing assessment, thecomponent shall show no breakage or cracks. Thetest pieces shall be examined with the naked eye.Requirement to impact resistance:GMW14093 - 2 / min 2.5 J.4.13 Mildew Growth.

Note:Only for parts containing materials withnatural contents e.g. jute, sisal, hemp, flax,cellulose, wool, cotton etc.:

Mildew Growth to GMW3259 – No mildew.4.14 Thickness Swell (GMW14777, GME 60351).Note:Only for parts containing materials withnatural contents e.g. jute, sisal, hemp, flax,cellulose, wool, cotton etc.:

Thickness swell to GMW14777 – G – 40 % max.

It supersedes all regional interior part performancespecifications for use on Global Engineered Partsincluding but not limited to: GME 00004

This GM plasticmaterial specification shall be noted on the partdrawing and/or in the math data file of the drawingof the plastic part.
