Including thefollowing typical parts but not limited to:side trim below belt line, steering wheelrim, garnish moldings - upper, horizontalportion (A and C pillar for vehicle, D pillarfor truck, hatch back vehicle quarter trim),seat cushion, back, remining headrestraints, belt guide loops, seat shoulderand armrests), horizontal surface of thecenter console (vehicle only), open rearcargo area vertical glass (truck only) at orjust below the glass line.

Position within vehicle is not exposed todirect sunlight. These parts are exposedto temperatures up to +85 °C in thevehicle. Including the following typicalparts but not limited to: floor carpet,overhead consoles, IP vertical surfacesbelow door glass line, steering wheel face,steering column and shroud, garnishupper without horizontal features and allother garnish ,seat upper, truck 2nd and3rd row seats (no open or transparentoofconfiguration and not in the back window),door trim panel complete, center consolehorizontal truck geometry, center consolesides, overhead parts, open rear cargoarea verticle glass (truck only) floor level,floor level parts.

1 Introduction

In addition to the requirements in GMW14651 allinterior parts as assembled parts must meet theapplicable requirements of GMW14444.

Note:Nothing in the specification supersedesapplicable laws and regulations.

Note:In the event of conflict between the Englishand domestic language, the English languageshall take precedence.

1.1 Scope. This specification defines the generalperformance requirements for plastic componentsand parts used for interior applications onautomobiles. These are integrally coloredmonolithic plastic components and parts as wellas plastic substrate materials for non-visiblecomponents and parts.

Note:Additional requirements for coated orpainted plastic parts are given in the relevant paintperformance specifications.

Note: Some sections reference both, GMW testmethod and local test methods, as soon the GMWis available, it supersedes the local test methods.1.2 Mission/Theme.Not applicable.1.3 Classification.

The requirements are classified by:

1.3.1 Installation Position (see Table 1).Aselected material shall support the partperformance for all environmental conditionsdefined by the installation position of the part inthe vehicle.

Note: The temperatures in Table 1 are measuredunder solar glass (tinted glass). If non-solar glassis used, up to +15 °C higher temperatures willoccur and the requirements shall be adjustedaccordingly.
