4.7 Resistance to Odor (GMW3205).

Note:This test only shall be done on parts thatare in contact with refreshable air in the occupantcompartment and the trunk.

Resistance to odour to GMW3205, dry condition,requirement: Rating 6, with a test piece size asspecified below.

Additional for parts containing materials withnatural contents e.g. jute, sisal, hemp, flax,cellulose, wool, cotton etc.: Resistance to odor toGMW3205, wet condition, requirement: Rating6, with a test piece size as specified below.The size of the test pieces shall be governed bythe amount of the test material used in the vehicle,and shall be selected using the mass of the part inthe care and the test container volume accordingto the formula, where P is the mass of part in g, Vis the volume of test container in l and t is themass of test piece in g.

4.9 Impact Resistance.Must comply toGMW14444 Impact Resistance requirement.4.10 Oxidation Stability.

Note:Test only for parts made of Polypropylene(PP).

During the test the test pieces shall not be incontact with the metallic oven walls. The clampsfor fixing the test pieces shall not contain anycopper.

Test pieces shall be exposed in an air circulatingoven operating at (+150 ± 3) °C.Test duration:AB

PP parts with no natural content: (168 ± 2) hPP parts with natural contents: (336 ± 2) h

Natural contents are e.g. jute, sisal, hemp, flax,cellulose, wool, cotton etc.

No visible indication of local discoloration and/orbrittleness by material degradation.4.11 Interior Emissions (GMW8081).

Note:This test only shall be done on parts thatare in contact with refreshable air in the occupantcompartment and the trunk.

Relative Emission < 0.5 shall be met.

Additional procedures and requirements may bedefined by the approving region.4.12 Humidity Ageing.

Note:Only for development, not for initial sampleapprovals. Only for compact plastic parts made ofhygroscopic materials e.g. polyurethane (exceptfoam parts), polycarbonate, polyester like PBTand PET, thermoplastic polyester elastomers andall blends containing these materials. Not forplastic parts made from polypropylene orpolyamide.

Note: If for plastic parts made of POM the odorcriteria is not met, then it can be substituted by thefollowing test:

Formaldehyde Release according to GME 60271 - 10 µg/g.

4.8 Flammability.Must comply with MVSS 302.Test to GMW3232.

Note:In addition the materials and componentsshall meet the requirements according to therelevant legislations and regulations of thecountries to which they are supplied
