Use the no description interface configuration command to delete the description.

This example shows how to add a description on Fast Ethernet interface 0/4 and to verify the description:

4006# config terminal

Enter configuration commands, one per line. End with CNTL/Z. 4006(config)# interface fastethernet2/4

4006(config-if)# description Connects to Marketing

4006(config-if)# end

4006# show interfaces fastethernet2/4 description

Fa2/4 up down Connects to Marketing
