What is Ceremonial Speech? A ceremonial speech is a speech of praise or blame, celebration or thanksgiving, condemnation or mourning. Ceremonial speaking stresses the sharing of identities and values that unites people into communities.-----Osborn and Osborn

Speech of This Sort Includes: Welcome and Introduction Speeches -Welcome address is a very brief speech to greet attendees and express pleasure at their presence. -The speech of introduction welcomes the speaker, establishes his or her ethos, and tunes the audience for the message to follow.

Keynote Address - a speech that represents the keynote of a larger idea or theme taking place. Award Speeches - presentation speeches and acceptance speeches. Graduation and Retirement Speeches celebrating the end of professional life or the completion of an academic qualification

Tribute Speeches - Speeches that acknowledge, commemorate or pay special honor to a particular idea, event, person or monument are called tributes or toasts. After-Dinner Speeches - At events such as weddings, corporate affairs and fundraisers, a light-hearted, entertaining speech is often provided during or at the conclusion of the meal. Eulogies - Eulogies are speeches given at or for a person's funeral.

礼仪讲话特点

总的说来，正式的礼仪讲话一般包括以下几个部分： A: 称呼：即讲话的对象，如： Ladies and Gentlemen, Your honor Mr. Mayor, Respected Dr. smith, Your excellency ,

B. 代表…向…表示感谢/祝贺等客套话，如： On behalf of all the members of my delegation, I would like to take this opportunity to express our sincere thanks to our host for their gracious hospitality. C: 正文： 既讲话的主要部分 D: 结尾： 在礼仪讲话的结尾部分，讲话人常 常要再次向讲话的对象表示感谢。如果是宴会 祝酒辞，讲话人常常提议为…… 干杯。 注意： 在口译这类讲话时，除了注意要忠实地 翻译讲话的意义，还必须特别留意讲话的对象 及其称谓。
