Study Abroad or in China?

There is no consensus of opinions among people as to whether students should study abroad or not. Some people are of the view that the youths should go overseas for further study if possible, while others take an opposite stand, firmly believing that it is of no necessity for students to study in a foreign country.

Those people who maintain that it is good for students to go abroad for further study believe that diverse culture background can broaden students’

horizon. Besides, they also claim that overseas study can shape students’ personality because they are forced to deal with all kinds of difficulties by themselves.

Nevertheless, the other people who contend that domestic education is good enough for students argue that our educational quality has been greatly improved during the past decade. What’s more, they also point out that domestic education is convenient and economical.

As far as I am concerned, the former opinion holds more weight. For one thing, it can strengthen the learners’ abilities to understand and communicate with people from other cultures. For another, the developed countries still have a lot advanced knowledge which is worth our study. When all the factors are examined, we may reasonably come to the conclusion that studying abroad if possible is advisable.

Living alone or Living with Roommates

Nowadays, there has appeared a heated discussion among the college students as to whether they should live alone outside the campus or live together with other roommates in the students’ dormitory. Opinions are divided over the matter. (When it comes to the college students’ accommodation, there is no complete agreement among people. Some people take it for granted that students could live alone outside the campus as they like. However, others maintain that students should live together with other roommates in the students’ dormitory.)

Those who are in favor of living alone maintain that/ Those people who hold the former opinion believe that it is very convenient to live by themselves. On one hand, they can enjoy absolute freedom in a room of their own. They can have their own timetable without disturbing others. On the other hand, they are also free to equip the room with a personal computer so that they can have easy access to the Internet.

But others argue that living with roommates has attractions of its own.

/However, still other advocate the latter opinion because they hold that with several students sharing the same room, each person’s experiences can be greatly enriched. Besides, they argue that students can learn a lot from talking to one another. By learning to tolerate the differences between individuals, they can become more mature.

As far as I’m concerned,/ Weighing up these two arguments, I prefer to live with roommates. For one thing, I love the feeling of belonging. For another thing, it is a lot cheaper and safer to live in a dorm than to rent a apartment outside the campus. Taking above-mentioned factors into consideration, I may reasonably conclude that sharing a dormitory in campus will be the right choice for most students.

Different people have different views on the Spring Festival Gala. Some prefer the view that it suits most audience’s taste. Others tend to believe it should be cancelled. As to me, I agree to the first opinion.

Of course, about four-hour-long programs will make some people feel a bit bored. For example, the forms of most programs are familiar to the audience, which lack of originality and can not attract the audience. But in my opinion, there is no denying that many people still have a strong feeling for it. The following reasons can account for my argument.

Firstly, it adds to fun and excitement and makes a happy festival atmosphere.

A good example to illustrate is cross talks and other comic performances always bring people a lot of laughter. In addition, the directions are trying hard to figure out the solutions to the obvious changes of the audience’s tastes. From the foregoing, I think the Spring Festival Gala is still an indispensable part of the New Year’s Eve.
