Abstract:Anumericalcalculationmodelwithlocalrefinedmeshforlaserdeeppenetrationweldingoftitaniumalloyispres2ented.ARotatry2Gaussbodyheatsourcemodelwasestablishedtoaccuratelydescribetheshapeofkeyholeandmoltenpoolofthelaserweldedjoint.Theprofileofkeyholeandmoltenpoolaswellasthedistributionofhighgradientresidualstresseareobtained.Itisshowedthattheregionofhighstresslocatesinthekeyholeregion,andhighgradientresidualstressdistributesintheotherregionofweldedseam.Thestressegradientincreasesinthestateofexcessivelyhighandlowlevelofenergydensityaswellasthestateoflowerlinearenergy.Itissupposedthatkeepingthelaserenergydensityinstateoflowandmediumlevelorkeepingthelinearenergyinstateoflowlevelcouldavoidthehighgradientstresses.

Abstract: Wollastonitecoatingwaspreparedbyplasmasprayingatdifferentsprayingdistances,primarygasflowratesandplasmapower.Themicrostructureofthecoatinglagerwasexaminedbyscanningelectronmicroscope(SEM).Theresultsshowthatthethreesprayingparametersaffectthemicrostructureofwollastonitecoatingsgreatly.Flattendegreeofmoltenpowderdecreasedandthenumberofporesincreasedwiththeincrementofsprayingdistanceatlargerflowrateofprimarygas.However,flattendegreeofmoltenpowderfirstlyincreasedandthende2creasedwiththesprayingdistanceatthelowerflowrateofprima2rygas.Themicrostructureofcoatingsisdenserwithlargergasflowrate.Flattendegreeincreasedwithplasmapowerupto36kW.Furtherincreaseofplasmapowerresultsinmoreroundporesappearingincoatings.Effectofsprayparametersonthemicrostructureofwollastonitecoatingsmainlyresultedfromthe

influenceonvelocityandtemperatureofthemoltendroplets.

Abstract: Theweldingstressandstrainwereinvestigatedusingthefiniteelementmethodcombinedwiththeexperiments.Theresearchresultsshowedthatthemetalinthemeltingpoolismeltedintheframeofareawithcompressiveplasticstrain,andcooleddownalsointheframeoftheareawithcompressiveplasticstrain.Thetensileplasticstrainisproducedintheweldwhenitisinthestateof‘mechanicalmelting’duringthecoolingprocess.Butintheresidualstate,thecompressiveplasticstrainstillremainsintheweld.Thepeakvalueoflongitudinaltensilestressintheweldoftitaniumalloyisalwayslowerthanitsyieldstrengthattheappropriatetemperatureduringthecoolingprocess,thissituationiskeptuntiltheresidualstate.
