通过本单元的学习,学生能够描述天气状况,懂得运用一般将来时(be going to)来描述即将发生的事情。

知识目标:熟记关于天气的单词和表达方法;掌握名词转化为形容词的构词法;掌握be going to句型的使用方法。

技能目标:能够用英文描述天气;能够准确运用be going to句型。

情感目标:通过介绍一些外国文化来不断提高学生对英语的认识和学习英语的兴趣。

教学重点:掌握描述天气的表达方法,学习巩固一般将来时的知识和名词转化为形容词的用法。

1st-2nd period: Warming up, Listening and Speaking

Sep. 26, 2012 Aims and demands:

1.Ss can talk about weather.

2.Ss can remember following words

cloudy fog foggy rainy snowy sunny windy air fresh all the time report weather report rain correct you bet lovely already ground on the ground outside go outside snowman coal carrot funny hat glove.

Main points:

1.Words and expressions about weather.

Difficult point:

Understanding through listending of the dialogue about weather. Teaching Methods:

Asking, performing, listening and speaking.

Teaching Procedures

Step I:Lead in (20 mins)

1. Ask Ss: What’s the weather like today? And then show the pictures of weather.

2. Teach Ss the difference between n. and adj. about the weather

Cloud – cloudy fog – foggy rain – rainy snow – snowy wind – windy Step II: Practice (25 mins)

1. Let Ss match the pictures and words in Part 1 on P36 Ss Book. Check the answers.

2. FAST RECATION. (words)

Step III: Listening I. (20 mins)

1. Ask some of Ss the meaning of words in Part 3.

2. Let Ss listen to recording first with 5 Qs in mind.

Q:What’s the weather like today?

How is the air?

What does the girl hope?

What does the weather report say?

What do they think of the weather report?

3. Listen again and repeat after the tape.

Step IV: Listening II. (20 mins)

1. Try to pronounce the words in Part 1 on P37 Ss Book.

2. Explain some words.

## go outside => go inside出去,进来

hat => cap 区别

3. Listen to the tape first and answer Qs

Q: What’s the weather like in the dialogue?

What is Jane going to give to the snowman?

4. Repeat after tape and pay attention to the intonation.

5. Learn some language points.

## It’s a lovely/nice/fine day. 好天气

a lot of 一些+ 可数/ 不可数n. e.g. a lot of water / cakes

on the ground 在地面上

Good idea. 好主意!

give sth to sb = give sb sth 给某人某物 e.g. Please give Jack this

umbrella. = Please give this umbrella to Jack.

build a snowman 堆雪人

gloves 手套(一般用复数)

Quite + adj./adv. 十分..

Season: spring, summer, autumn/fall, winter

6. Finish Part 3 and check.

Step V: Sum up. (5 mins)

Review what we have learnt today.

Homework:

Make conclusion of language points.

Sep. 27, 2012 Aims and demands:

1.Try to talk about weather.

2.Understanding of be going to sentence.

Main points:

1.Learn more vocabulary and expressions about weather.

Difficult point:

Memory of these expressions.

Teaching Methods:

Asking, performing, listening, speaking and practice.

Teaching Procedures

Step I:Lead in (10 mins)

1. Read aloud the dialogue and do the roles play. Ask some to present in class. Try to recite it.

Step II:Practice (30 mins)

1.Circle the correct words and check the answer. T needs to explain

difference between two choices.

2.Read out the words in Part 6. Listen to the tape and complete the

passage.

3.Listen again and write down the answer in Part 7.

4.Pair works. Let Ss make dialogue with desk mate and ask some to

present in class.

Step III:Reading and Writing (40 mins)

1.Ask some Ss to explain the words one by one. (Part 1)

2.Look at the pictures first and try to say something about them. (Part 2) What does the following sign mean?

How to say temperatures? *C degree centigrade

3.Read the text and find out sentences matching with cities.

4.Read out the text the whole class.

5.Decide true and false. And check the answer.

Step IV: Sum up. (5 mins)

Review what we have learnt today.

Homework:

Preview Reading and Writing and Grammar.

Sep. 28, 2012 Aims and demands:

1.To be able to read and write some sentences to describe weather.

2.To master grammar points about usage of “be going to” and adjectives. Main points:

1.future tense and adjectives.

1.To be able to use future tense and adjectives to describe weather. Teaching Methods:

Asking, performing, listening, speaking and practice.

Teaching Procedures

Step I:Reading and Writing (20 mins)

1. Read aloud the reading text and learn some language points.
