Overview

The ZXR10 3228 intelligent safety Ethernet

switch is a high-performance switching device

with dense ports. It supports functions such as

ACL, QoS, flow control, VLAN, and 802.1x

to implement the wire speed forwarding. The Open▲

system provides 24 fixed FE electrical interfaces and 2 GE/FE extension slots. Each extension slot provides two optical/electrical adaptive GE ports or 1/2 FE optical ports. It supports 1000 M short-distance, long-distance and ultra long-distance optical interfaces. The 3228 can be flexibly used for remote fiber access, or 10M/100M/1000M adaptive interfaces for connection with servers or upper layer 1000M switches. According to the actual networking requirement, the operator selects a combination of various optical and electric interfaces to complete the desired convergence function.

The ZXR10 3228 adopts a mode with a combination of modular interface and fixed interface. It provides 24 FE electric interface + 4GE optical/electric adaptive interfaces or 4 FE optical interfaces. The system supports port bundling, while the access mode and networking mode are highly flexible.

It provides a 24 fixed MDI/MDI-X adaptive 100M electric interface. It can provide the dense and low cost Ethernet access for the enterprise and premises networks.

The 3228 is configured with two GE extension slots. It can provide up to 4 optical/electric adaptive 1000M interfaces (SFP) through multiple 1000M modules. This product supports 1000M electric interface, single-mode/multi-mode 1000M optical interfaces and 100M optical interface of various transmission distances. A single device supports multiple 1000M uplinks to access to 1000M switch. The original investment is protected and future costs are well controlled.

Excellent protocol support capability

The ZXR10 3228 supports L2 protocols in multiple complex network environments. It supports standard Ethernet protocols such as IEEE802.3, 802.3u, and 802.3z. The 3228 supports flow control based on 802.3x and authentication and billing based on 802.1x. It supports RADIUS and transparent transmission based on 802.1x. The 3228 supports 4K VLANs based on the 802.1q, along with PVLAN and SuperVlan. It supports abundant L2 protocols such as, LACP, STP, RSTP, and MSTP, as well as IGMP snooping. The ZXR10 3228 also supports multiple network management protocols such as SNMP, RMON, ZGMP cluster management, and Telnet.

Powerful security and QoS performance

The ZXR10 3228 possesses powerful flow control and security performance, and supports flow classification and filtering from L2 to L7. It supports powerful hardware ACL function while also providing VLAN, L2, and mixed ACL. It also supports ACL time segment. The 3228 provides excellent QoS strategy and multiple queue schdueling algorithms, along with support for WRED and port flow shaping. The product provides 8-level priority queues and supports message coloring and CAR (Committed Access Rate). The granularity of the flow rate restriction is 8 kbps. The 3228 supports MAC address bundling, MAC address filtering and broadcast storm suppression.

Unified NM functions

The ZXR10 3228 supports multiple network management protocols such as SNMP, RMON, ZGMP cluster management, Telnet, and CLI. The in-band NM can be handled via a command line configuration management based on Telnet/Console or SNMP-based graphic interface configuration management. The device support unified NM based on the ZXNM01 platform.
