expect: 强调客观上可能实现的“期望”,“期待”1. expect +n. / pron. 盼望或期待某物 eg. He is expecting her letter. The children were expecting Christmas presents from their parents.

valuable : 贵重的(客观上的) precious :珍贵的(主观上的带感情色彩的) The diamond is valuable. The old toy bear is precious to John.
