ThisinternationalcodeorstandardwasdevelopedunderproceduresaccreditedasmeetingthecriteriaforAmericanNationalStandardsanditisanAmericanNationalStandard.TheStandardsCommitteethatapprovedthecodeorstandardwasbalancedtoassurethatindividualsfromcompetentandconcernedinterestshavehadanopportunitytoparticipate.Theproposedcodeorstandardwasmadeavailableforpublicreviewandcommentthatprovidesanopportunityforadditionalpublicinputfromindustry,academia,regulatoryagencies,andthepublic-at-large.
ASMEdoesnot“approve,”“rate,”or“endorse”anyitem,construction,proprietarydevice,oractivity.
