Abstract:Afiberopticsensingmethodformonitoringsulfurdioxide(SO2)inenvironmentispresented.WithblueLEDexcitationsourceandminiaturefiberopticspectrometer,theintensityofphotoluminescencepeakforn2typeporoussiliconstabilizedbyphotochemicalmethodinSO2gasismeasured.Byanalyzingthevariationofintensity,theconcentrationofSO2gascanbeobtained.Accordingtotheoriesofsemiconductorelectrochemistryandsolidstatespectroscopy,thebasicprincipleofn2typeporoussilicon′sformationanditsSO2sensingarediscussedrespectively.Thechemicalconstituteofstabilizedporoussiliconisstudiedbyinfraredspectroscopy,anditsSO2sensingperformanceisalsoevaluated.Itisshownthatthephotoluminescenceofstabilizedn2typeporoussiliconcanrapidlyandreversiblyquenchedbySO2gas,andthecorrespondingpeakinquenchingprocessisverystable.TheresultdemonstratesthefeasibilityofthefiberopticsensingmethodformonitoringSO2gasinenvironment.
