Because of the differences of background and economic level, college education between China and US are different. The different aspects of college education mainly include teaching model, college life and the independence capability of students.

In China, students usually can take in the things that the teachers teach and they also can get high marks in examinations. Usually, the students only know the knowledge, but they do not know how to use them in practice. US is an open society. The society's openness urges the American college to adopt the open policy to absorb all advantages from other countries and establish a diverse and open education control system which emphasizes on the actual effect.

In addition, in China, college students need to take exams in the end of the term. Thus they often try their best to prepare the exams by mechanical memorizing. The American students don’t need the mechanical memorizing, but display creative thought as far as possible.

Besides, the independence capability is very important for a student. Chinese education emphases on training the students to be strict, rigorous spiritual and it do not value about creativity. American education pays more attention to raise student’ self-confidence, independence, and spirit of supporting oneself.
