be supposed to do sth.的用法 be supposed to do sth. 意为 “应该做某事或被期望做某事”, 用于表示根据规定、计划或传统习惯等不得不做或应该做某事。 其具体用法如下: 1.在 be supposed to do sth.的结构中,人称、时态、句式上 的变化通过 be 动词的变化来体现。如: Japanese are supposed to bow when they meet people for the first time.(肯定句) 日本人初次见面时要鞠躬。

You are not supposed to smoke on the bus.(否定句) 你不能在公共汽车上抽烟。 2.在 be supposed to do 结构中,

当句子的主语是人时,用 来表示劝告、建议、义务、责任等语气;当主语是物时,意为

“本应;本该”,表示“某事本应该发生而没有发生”。如:She is late for class again and she is supposed to say sorry to the teacher. 她又迟到了,她应该向老师说声对不起。 The new laws are supposed to prevent crime.

这些新法令本应该起到防止犯罪的作用。

3.be supposed to 与 should 的区别: 与 should 相比,be supposed to 因为用在被动语态中,表示 一种客观的陈述,语气显得委婉,不带强烈的命令色彩;而 should

则更侧重于说话者主观上的判断,语气比较生硬。
