WehaveusedtheVeryLargeArraytosearchforcompactmilliarcsecond-sizeradiosourcesnearmethanolmasersinhigh-massstar-formingregions.SuchsourcesarerequiredforVeryLongBaselineInterferometryphase-referencingob-servations.Weconductedpointedobservationsof234compactsourcesfoundintheNVSSsurveyand nd92sourceswithunresolvedcomponentsandsyn-chrotronspectralindexes.ThesesourcesarelikelythecoresofAGNsand,thus,goodcandidatesforastrometriccalibrators.
