In the West，people like different kinds of parties.They always invite friends for a dinner party at home.

The dinner party usually starts between 7 pm and 8 pm and ends at 11 pm.Before going to a dinner party，you'd better ask the host what time you should arrive.It's polite to bring something as a gift.You can bring a bunch of flowers，a box of chocolates or a bottle of wine.Do you want to be more polite? After arriving at your friend's home，say you like the room or the pictures on the wall very much. But remember it's not polite to ask how much a thing costs.

You'll probably start the meal with some soup，next you will have meat and vegetables，and then dessert，followed by coffee. If you want to eat more food，you should eat up the food on your plate first.

After the meal，you can stay at your friend's home for about one hour. But you shouldn't stay too long. You should begin to show that you want to go 15 or 20 minutes before you leave your friend's house. Before leaving，you should thank the host for inviting you.

Last summer vacation I decided to visit my grandparents because I haven't seen them for many years.

While I was waiting in the waiting room ，a woman came and asked me if I could help her look after her two boys for a while. I agreed and we played games until the woman came back. After they left ，I found my wallet had been stolen. I called the

police right away. They told me that the woman had cheated me. That made me really disappointed and worried. Finally，I got to my grandparents' home with the help of the police.

It's a lesson to me. But I think we still should keep a kind heart，although the society isn't good enough.
