I worked as a technical translator in the Technology Information Section Office of 878 Integrated Circuit Factory. I accomplished the translation of hundreds of foreign technical articles about the most advanced integrated curcuit technology in the world at that time, and

what I had done was highly recognized by my colleagues and heads. In addition, I spent a lot of spare time on my English learning, and as a result I passed successfully and easily the TOFEL examination held in January, 1990 with a score of 613.



1993/08 --- 1995/06 Bejing Airport Maintenance Engineering Corporation (AMECO)
I worked as a staff in the Overseas Ordering section office of Aeronautical Equipments and Materials Division in AMECO. After half-an-year Advanced English training held within our company in 1994, my spoken English were significantly improved. At the same time, I ssiduously

Sun Microsystems, a TOP 500 multinational IT company, is well known for being the inventor of powerful Java programming language. At the same time, it is the global supplier of network computing solutions with its proven portfolio of systems, software and services.


I worked for Sun as Language Specialist for Simplified Chinese language, the owner of Simplified Chinese language and cultural aspects of translation, responsible for providing support services to project management teams and translation vendors on Simplified Chinese language and cultural aspects of translation projects, in order to ensure a translation quality that meets market requirements. The scope of my responsibility covers the followings:



Conducting linguistic review on the translation delivery from Sun’s Simplified Chinese localization vendors, offering correct sample translation when necessary, for vendors to do follow-up modification.

Conducting language quality assessment on translated material /products and providing rating for translation and recommendation for follow-up actions on vendors’side, to ensure the language quality of Sun’s Simplified Chinese localized product releases.

In charge of the whole process of publishing electronically Sun Simplified Chinese product releases to Sun's Product Documentation website.

Resposible for the translation, review, and management on Sun Simplified Chinese general glossary and product-specific terminologies.

Reviewing and approving terminology proposed by translation vendors.

2003/10 --- Present Freelance Interpreter and Translator

Due to my abiding love for oral English and strong desire to be an excellent interpreter, in December 2003 I turned myself into a signed freelancer with Sun, providing translation and review service for Sun from home. This saved me a lot of time, allowing me to be immersed in

massive imitational practice by emulating those native English speakers in various English radio and video programmes，delivered by CNN, C-SPAN, NPR and VOA. After two years of strenuous, strict and persistent practice, my hard working finally paid off: since then I have been able to speak pure, genuine, orphean and fluent American oral English, totally getting rid of Chinese tone.
From this point on, I began to provide interpretation service as an escort or companion interpreter for foreigners whenever possible. My incredible proficiency at English was well acknow
ledged by those clients. Actually, I have been in most cases mistaken for a Chinese American, who lived in the United States for many years.
