Teaching and learning steps
Step 1: Warming-up and review
1. Ask the class to sing the song ABC.
2. The teacher shows all vowels by courseware on the screen.
(1) First ask the whole class read the vowels together.
(2) Then get some students to read the vowels individually and meanwhile correct the wrong ones.

The teacher first says a word and the students try to make words one by one, but the first letter of the word has to be the same as the last consonant letter of the previous word. For example: cat-tape-pig-gift-time…
