Lesson 1 Further Education In Britain
Aim: Let students know British education and compare British education to
American education. Accumulating skills of taking notes bit by bit.
Training focus: A teacher can let the students know the training focus of this material
is the understanding of the importance of expectation in listening
comprehension. Appropriate expectation and prediction prove to be
very helpful in enhancing the students’ listening comprehension. If
the students can make a good guess as to the sort of things to be
presented in class, they will be much more likely to understand and
enjoy the passage.

B: The material in each unit is divided into intensive and extensive
according to level of difficulty, importance and interest in order that
we can manage to study one unit within two periods and save time to
accomplish more in each semester.
C: Whatever form of exercise the students may be required to do, all
class activities should be based on note-taking.
